Overview
Persist (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a mobile iOS application built for independent life insurance agents. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. By using Persist, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Persist is a tool for managing your client relationships. The information you enter into the app is data about your clients, not yourself as a user. We collect:
- Client data you provide: Client names, phone numbers, policy anniversary dates, birthdays, insurance carrier names, annual premium amounts, and commission amounts or percentages.
- Account information: Your email address and password used to create your Persist account.
- Usage data: App activity such as tasks completed, retention score changes, and feature interactions — used to improve the product and not tied to individual client records.
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, and push notification token for delivering reminders.
- Subscription data: Purchase history and subscription status, managed through Apple and RevenueCat.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected to:
- Generate your weekly retention task list based on client dates and policy information
- Calculate and display your retention score and commission goal progress
- Send push notifications for upcoming birthdays, anniversaries, and renewal dates
- Authenticate your account and keep your data secure
- Process and manage your subscription payments
- Improve app performance and fix bugs based on aggregate usage patterns
We do not sell your data, your clients' data, or any personally identifiable information to third parties. Ever.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest. Access to your data is protected by Row Level Security (RLS) policies, meaning only your authenticated account can read or write your records.
We implement industry-standard security practices including secure password hashing, authenticated API access, and regular security reviews. While no system is completely immune to risk, we take every reasonable step to protect your information.
Third-Party Services
Persist integrates with the following third-party services:
- Supabase — Database and authentication provider. Supabase processes and stores your account and client data on our behalf. Their privacy policy is available at supabase.com.
- RevenueCat — In-app purchase and subscription management. RevenueCat processes subscription events and purchase history. They do not have access to your client data. Their privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com.
- Apple — Persist is distributed exclusively through the Apple App Store. Apple processes payments and may collect device-level analytics per their own privacy policy. Apple's privacy practices are governed by their privacy policy at apple.com/privacy.
Push Notifications
Persist uses push notifications to remind you of upcoming client dates — including birthdays, policy anniversaries, and renewal deadlines. Notifications are sent only for events related to clients you have added to the app.
You may disable push notifications at any time through your iOS device settings. Disabling notifications will not affect your ability to use the app, but you will no longer receive proactive reminders.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data remains accessible until you delete your account. When you delete your account, all associated data — including client records, task history, and account information — is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.
To request account and data deletion, contact us at support@persistapp.io. We will process your request within 10 business days and confirm when deletion is complete.
Children's Privacy
Persist is intended solely for professional use by adults (18+) who are licensed insurance agents. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of Persist after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
